Promotion of William Smith, Jr., P.E. to a Level IV Engineer
P. Joseph Lehman, Inc., Consulting Engineers is pleased to announce the promotion of William Smith, Jr., P.E. to a Level IV Engineer. Smith, of Logan Township, Blair County, is now a Lead Project Manager in the company’s bridge design department. His new responsibilities will also include an increased role in marketing to clients and participating in the direction and management of the company.
Bill is a Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) with 34 years of engineering industry experience and has been with Lehman Engineers providing structural design on various highway and bridge projects for 25 years. Bill is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a native of Hastings, Cambria County and resides in Altoona, PA.
As an Engineer IV, Bill will be Project Manager on PennDOT and other client projects while assisting team members to review and prepare bridge designs, schedules, permits, budgets, and specifications within quality assurance and quality control processes established at the firm. Bill will continue to play a vital role on the company’s bridge team on all aspects of design, repair, and rehabilitation. He has vast experience managing design tasks on PennDOT projects and on numerous structural analysis and bridge design projects including feasibility studies, investigating alternative design options for bridge rehabilitation or repair projects for single and multi-span prestressed concrete and steel girder design and analysis.
