
National Surveyors Week – March 16th – 22nd
Surveying is a profession with deep historical roots, dating back to ancient civilizations and playing a pivotal role in the expansion of the United States – And did you know that many of our nation’s early leaders, including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson, were actually surveyors?
Since 1984, the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) has designated a week each year as National Surveyors Week (NSW), recognizing the vital contributions of geospatial professionals across the country.

P. Joseph Lehman, Sr., Memorial Scholarship Received by Kylee Newfield
P. Joseph Lehman, Inc., Consulting Engineers is pleased to announce that Kylee Newfield has received the third annual award from the P. Joseph Lehman, Sr., Memorial Scholarship in Engineering for Women Endowment from the Independent Catholic Foundation. A junior at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Ebensburg, Kylee is interested in pursuing an engineering path where she can apply her science and math skills to help improve many lives.
Joe Lehman, Jr. remarked, “I am pleased to present this scholarship in the amount of $996.66 in memory of my father and especially pleased to support Kylee.

“Engineers Fight to CAN Hunger” with firm donation of $250.00 to the American Rescue Workers
National Engineers Week took place February 16-22, 2025. As part of the “Engineers Fight to CAN Hunger” initiative, the firm donated $250.00 to the American Rescue Workers (ARW), Altoona, Pa, through the 14th annual birthday Food drive effort led by Lauren Lehman, daughter of Joe Lehman, Jr., President.
In total, Lauren Lehman‘s 14th annual birthday food drive to fight hunger raised $1,507. In addition to the $250 donated to the ARW, Lauren donated $1,257 to the Dorothy Day Outreach Center,

Lehman’s PA State Association of Boroughs (PSAB) Article Published
Client Services Director, Jim Frank, and GIS Technician, Chantal Sisko, collaborated on an article about the value for municipalities in using GIS Mapping that appears in the February edition of Pennsylvania Borough News. The monthly magazine is published by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB). Jim also provided a second article in the publication with helpful tips for municipalities considering infrastructure projects. Donald Fix, IV, E.I.T. – PA Business Central’s Top 100 People for 2025
Donald L. Fix, IV, E.I.T., Bridge Inspection/Structural Field Services Director, was selected for PA Business Central’s Top 100 People for 2025. Don began at the firm in 2007. Don started as a Designer I and advanced to Bridge Inspection/Structural Field Services Director.

Chantal Sisko, Environmental Scientist & GIS Technician II, Receives Certification
Our firm would like to extend our congratulations to Chantal Sisko, Environmental Scientist & GIS Technician II. In November, Chantal took 3 days of training in Penoni, Mechanicsburg, PA. After the final exam held on January 21st, she obtained her certification as a licensed Lead Inspector. Great job!

UPMC Altoona Foundation Winter Splendor
Several of our staff, and their family and friends, were able to partake in the UPMC Altoona Foundation Winter Splendor. The event was held on Fri. Jan. 17th at the Blair County Convention Center, Altoona, PA. Festivities included Healthcare Honor Awards, Gift Basket Raffles, 50/50, a delicious dinner and a unique “Silent Disco”.

Robert D. “Bob” Bryant, P.E., new role as Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Adviser

Joseph Lehman, Inc., Consulting Engineers is pleased to announce that Robert D. “Bob” Bryant, P.E., will be transitioning into a new role as the firm’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Adviser. Bob, of Hollidaysburg, is also a Partner in Lehman Engineers and has been a Project Engineer in the firm’s Highway Department for an incredible 50 years. In his new responsibilities, he will be central to overseeing the firm’s strategies and objectives to ensure high quality project outcomes and processes are met.
