Job Shadow Experience for Student Aidan Schurr of Bishop Guilfoyle Academy
Our firm hosted high school junior student Aidan Schurr of Bishop Guilfoyle Academy in Altoona, for a job shadowing experience. Aidan spent the majority of his observation time in our Survey department, learning about the specific education and skills necessary for a career in surveying and engineering. Lehman’s Survey and Geospatial Services Director, Dave Butterbaugh, explained the types of projects for which he and his team regularly perform surveys and visited engineering project sites in the area.
Aidan also got to visit with Project Engineers Adam Katrancha, PE and Ryan Granville, PE, of the Lehman Highway Department, to discuss their education, company roles and project experience. Aidan said he enjoyed seeing the dynamics of a true workplace environment and found the various engineering projects to be a fulfilling career choice.
