Academia Covered Bridge

The Juniata County Covered Bridge Society is raising funds for restoration of their Academia Covered Bridge.  The two span timber Burr Truss is 278'-9" long, making it the longest covered bridge still standing in Pennsylvania.

We are proud to be a part of the restoration project and look forward to preserving this historic structure.

The bridge crosses Tuscarora Creek between Beale and Spruce Hill Townships in Juniata County, Pennsylvania.  Over the years, Powder Post Beetle damage has taken a serious toll on the structure..

The Juniata County Historical Society is actively pursuing additional funds required for this rehabilitation project.
